Track central sucks in Rising though, lol.The next step in the franchise's evolution. Bugs aside Rising is the best Trials since Evolution. AND Rising added Ninja difficulty to the official list which basically gives you something to always work towards and improve on. Rising also has like double the tracks of the other games and EVERY item in the editor. Also the theme went back to something similar to Evo which is only a plus.

Bike feels tighter compared to Fusion, definitely feel more in control of what I'm doing in rising on the bike. Rising comes out and it immediately goes back to the feel of evolution. Played each track once or twice and stopped after completing the extremes. Fusion came out and the bike went back to a more bouncy, floaty feel like HD, and the theme of futuristic was a turn off after the whole feel of the 'thrown together/hand built' look of tracks in previous games.

Evolution came out and the controls were A LOT tighter, the bike felt amazing and the open world / sky overhead tracks was a welcomed breath of fresh air. HD was amazing when it came out cause it was fresh, new, and different. I have more examples, but these are some of my major complaints.įair points, I feel like people who prefer one over the other is going to come down to how the physics feel on the bike. I much prefered the the unique track challenges of Fusion and medal based unlocks. At times I get ghosts of players nearing world record times which are out of my reach.Īnother sentiment that is common here is of the contracts and progression system are not so good. It gets frustrating seeing butt slap emotes when you've improved your time ten fold. Fusion doesn't really apply here as all the games before rising did not implement this stupid feature. Notifications are no longer quickly accessible and the menu they are in has a very low info density.Ībsolutely irritating is the random ghost system that pairs you up against randoms. Even the medal screen lacks the track name and fault count. Rising on the other hand is a huge step down who thought getting rid of leaderboard previews was a good thing! Another big irk is that faults are only displayed on leaderboards and no where else. Nothing about it is irritating or feels lacking. While fusion has it's negatives, I would say it gets many things right that Rising flops on.įor starters, the menu UI in Fusion is very sleek and functional, not just the track selection but the whole package.
